Juan Ponce de Leon discovered Florida on this day in 1513. Florida is known as the Sunshine State because of its beautiful weather and sunny climate. (South Dakota was the Sunshine State until Florida stole the nickname) If you could think of a new nickname for your state, what would it be and why?

ReplyDeletei will chose sunny state because it is always sunny but i that one was use already then my next one will be gator state because Florida has alligators .

ReplyDeleteIf I could re-nickname Florida I would chose the "citrus peninsula". Because it is one of the only USA peninsulas. And also because we grow oranges and its our symbol.

ReplyDeleteIf I were to change Florida's nickname the, "Sunshine state", I would chose, the "Orange Country", because Florida is known for it's orange fields, juice, and many other orange products. Don't forget the beautiful weather.

ReplyDeleteIf i could change Florida's nickname i would chose the ''Fun State'' because that's were tons of the big amusement parks and were people love to vacation. Also because oh all the nice weather here it does not have weather to hot or to cold its nice warm weather here.

ReplyDeleteIf I had to re-nickname Florida's nickname it would be "The Gun State" because once you look at the state of Florida on a map, if you look very carefully, it kind of looks like a gun. That would be the nickname if I had to pick a nickname for Florida.

ReplyDeleteIf i could change Florida's nickname it would have to be the "Key State". Because Florida is most know for its Florida Keys. it you have never been to the Florida keys you should try to get a vacation to came her. It is all the way at the end of Florida. the water is so clear that you can see the bottom of the ocean. the water is turquoise all the way through. You can go to a class of a week and they teach you how to scuba dive. they have so many things that you can do. the Florida beaches are so amazing. it would be the best nickname for Florida.

ReplyDeleteIf I were to give my state a new nickname, it would be The Humid State. Because Florida is so humid, I think the appropriate name for it would be The Humid State. Literally, everyday it is humid and hot, even in the winter. Whenever I go out, my hair seems to get 10x bigger. I can't wait to move, because I no longer want to live in The Humid State.
